She's not a new name, but her work is pretty amazing. Check out the first installation of her interview on ART TALK onVBS.TV . It is a nice glimpse into the personality of Aurel Schmidt.
Adam and Ron is a tale of two artists (great friends, complete opposites), one gallerina, and a film crew. In this five part video/mockumentary, the camera follows Adam Krueger and Ron Beach Jr. as they prepare for a two man show, Better Version of Me, at the Canal Chapter in Lower Manhattan. As could be expected with two contrasting personalities, tensions run high as the date to open draws closer. Lives momentarily change. In a way, think of this as a much cooler version of the Fine Living Network's Opening Soon.
I forgot all about gangs until I received a shady email about Blood initiations this weekend. While searching for some photos of them, I came across this website, Know Gangs, which could be perceived as an attempt for a gang social networking site. Which would be totally cool. Unfortunately (or fortunately), the site is "a leading training provider for law enforcement, educators and social service workers seeking to enhance their knowledge about gangs, drugs and school violence." Inspired by my refreshed interest in all things "gang", I found this nice video on you tube of some bloods doing what they do second best, dance.
So you missed Dewey Cox at the Knitting Factory, on Wednesday,, you can check out footage from the tour at www.coxacrossamerica.com, In the meantime here's the ad for his sausage. Walk Hard is opening soon, so why not a little Cox sausage advertisement?

This is one of those links that was forwarded to you. What I can tell from this clip, there is a web site, wWw. 2 girls 1 cup dot Com, that has a video of a 2 girls taking a deuce in a cup, then I guess they start drinking it. I am not recommending watching it, (I did not) but, I do recommend watching the chain of video reactions that has been generated from the site, on YouTube.
I don't know what it is....maybe the combination of the calm music and the reaction to knowing that what they are looking at it is truly vile, but you never see it. It's genius!
So I typed "Fat People" into the search on YouTube and this is what came up. Any requests? Leave them in the comments and I'll pick one of them for tommorow.
Here in NYC it's shitty out, and tomorrow is supposed to be even worse. Coming back after a long weekend is always tough. So sit back and laugh at one of the best moments on the silver screen.
Jezebel.com has the clip of Bindi Irwan, the daughter of mortal x-croc hunter Steve Irwin, performing on the Today show. She is rapping from her new "Trouble in the Jungle" album.... I am not sure what is sadder, her exploitation as a rapper, or the guys dancing behind her.
Everyone wants to see her naked, and everyone wishes that they were Brad Pitt. Everyone wants to watch videos of her naked. So, instead of watching Beowulf or dealing with all her kids, you can watch the animation of Angie naked, dripping in gold. It's like Lara Croft, but better.
Straigth from FMU, "The Burka Band claim to be Afghanistan's first girl group. ...A little googling reveals that this video was actually done in 2003 (well before the youtube era) and, as is usually the case when searching for information about obscure bands, it turns out that WFMU has been playing them for years. Who knew?" For more obscure stuff like this check out there blog form time to time.
Just days after completing a six week rehab program and hours after claiming he was drug free at the MTV Europe Music Awards, rocker Pete Doherty was filmed injecting "heroine" into his arm. A source close to Pete told The Sun (UK): And to prove authenticity the picture on the Sun's page features the same shirt from the video as he returns to Heathrow from the awards show. What a rockstar!
My friend Brandon got me into Panda Bear, and when I need to relax, his music is what I turn to. I was happy to find a video of on YouTube. Hopefully it will bring some relax to your Monday. On a side note this video was directed by Patrick O'Dell (Epicly Later'd) and Sam Salganik. Enjoy
Start your Monday off with a bang! It's 1990 again, PC DeathSquad, made a video that takes me back to the days of Monsters of Rock. Drinking 40's and schnapps and throwing up all over the place. Metal Rules!

There is something really wrong about 5000 birds in a car, or why you would have that many. What desire would you need to do something like this? Is it art? Were they captured in Italy? Possibly Venice? It's the same old story, drive your pet out into the country and let him go...... Is that what's happening here? A lot of questions.
The Cult's new album "Born into This", comes out today, a viral video is also making the rounds which combines footage of the uprising in Burma with THE CULT's "Tiger in the Sun" from "Born into This". If the band had nothing to do with this video, then they need to find the editor, the video combines powerfull images, on top of a good song, that becomes great and meaningful.
On The Go is a classic video magazine that was made by Espo in the early 90's. This short video of The Roots' Black Thought and ?uestlove freestyling has recently popped up on YouTube. Two things happened this weekend, the MTV VMA's and the competition for Worlds greatest air guitar player occurred..... and then I realize you really don't need to sing on stage anymore (brit) and hell people like to look like an idiot pretending to play guitar. and now I think this maybe the next level, drum pants.
Andy Warhol, enjoying a burger from burger king. He truly was a odd man, I think the most interesting moments are at the end as he sits there and looks around at his environment.

Do you have 45 minutes to spare? If so watch this amazing BBC documentary on Real dolls, if your not familiar with real dolls, then let us introduce you to them. Since 1996, they have been using Hollywood special effects technology to produce the most realistic love doll in the world, featuring completely articulated skeletons which allow for anatomically correct positioning, an exclusive blend of the most expensive silicone rubbers for an ultra-flesh like feel, " If you've ever dreamed of creating your ideal woman, then you have come to the right place." The documentary is brilliant, it lets you see who buys you the dolls, and how they live with them. One owner has a organic girlfriend and 8 real dolls. Lets just say it leaves you speechless.

Watch the new Yeah Yeah Yeahs video for “One Night In Paris”, on a crappy Yahoo video player. The only good thing is ...the song is good, its a good video, and you do not have to sit through a ad before the video plays.
A big monster movie. Shot with the trust video phone, the Trailer for the new film is making its way on the net. If you’re like me you’ve heard nothing about it. The most complete list comes from AICN, to sum it up:
- The giant monster is referred to internally as “The Parasite”
- The majority of the film will be shot on handheld cameras, as if from the perspective of citizens of New York under attack
- It will be a relatively small film but will deliver some “big thrills” like an Manhattan-leveling earthquake or an oil tanker capsizing near the Statue of Liberty…or, you know, what we saw in the trailer
In lieu of it being a holiday week and the offices at the worlds best is on skeleton crew duty, we have put together a list of fireworks accidents for you to enjoy. So enjoy
Ryan McGinley is obviously the photographer/man of the moment. So much so that Puma has gotten together with him to make a short film in promotion of their new bike/gear line. The film is of two naked lovers frolicking in an eden-like landscape. Truly beautiful and complimentary of his photography. Watching this makes me realize that I need to find a beautiful naked lady with a huge, fertile plot of land to play around on. Watch it here. via V magazine

Lindsay Lohan will be on the cover of Radar's June/July cover. At Radar Online you can watch the behind the scenes footage. A little over halfway in the video you see a PA (production assistant) pull a piece of lint from Lindsay's arse. I can only imagine what afterwork drinks were like. "Dude, I touch Lindsay's ass, I was all up on it!" Truly, twbe Job!

The latest version of the popular, murder-your-way-to-victory video game "Grand Theft Auto" unleashes its violence in a city with an uncanny resemblance to New York — and city officials are upset.
"The mayor does not support any video game where you earn points for injuring or killing police officers," said Jason Post, a spokesman for Mayor Michael Bloomberg.
In previous versions of the game, players killed both police officers and prostitutes, and sold pornography to children.
Trailers of the latest game, released Thurday on the Internet, show the Statue of Liberty, the Brooklyn Bridge and Coney Island's Cyclone, while a voice is heard saying: "Life is complicated. I killed people, smuggled people, sold people. Perhaps here, things will be different." Hmmmm can't wait to play, I wonder if I can drive around Williamsburg and run over the hipster's is "gap" williamsburg jeans.
Wooster Collective links to a video by TWBE favorite Swoon on Designguide.tv. The video "takes a look at street art presented at a gallery by artists Swoon and Poncho. Variety reports on a new entity on the iTunes Store. Apple started selling "That" (iTunes Link) a 39 minute snowboarding direct-to-DVD action video by Forum Snowboards. According to the article this "is the first time iTunes has sold video content that didn't come from an established network, studio or distributor."
After 10 months of negotiations, Forum Snowboards accepted the $1.99 lower price point of the iTunes TV section, where the video is found.
"People are not buying DVDs the way they used to, and it's becoming increasingly easy to get (illegal) versions of our content online, so we're thrilled to be able to pioneer an agreement like this with iTunes," said Mike Nusenow, general manager of the Program, Forum's parent company.
While this only represents a single indie video, it opens up the doors for Apple to distribute other independent authors through iTunes. Also interesting (though speculative) is with Apple's new trademark agreement with Apple Corps, it could also open up the possibility for Apple to distribute independent music -- bypassing traditional record labels altogether.
Along with San Francisco and Barcelona, New York is arguably the modern street skating city, both in reality and image. Because of the unique background, experience and perspective of the film's creators and the decision to "cast" the city of New York as one of the main characters, New York City Skate Film promises to be an unprecedented, seminal film. More info here NCP Films.

If your not sure what "web 2.0" is, watch this video and you might have an idea. An idea, to be excited about and an idea of what to fear. Created by Digital Ethnography, a working group of Kansas State University students and faculty dedicated to exploring and extending the possibilities of digital ethnography.
Created for Suburban Auto Group, "the trunk monkey" ad's depict a monkey bribbing police, hitting people of the head with crowbars, and dumping bodies of bridges. The ads are old but they are funny. I can only imagine what the advertising pitch must have been like.
The largest collection of great white sharks, feeding on a whale "it was amazing to see sharks line up like little piglets suckling from there mother", commentary from the clip. I have to say it is an amazing piece of video.
When there are no waves, what’s left to do for a surfer? Well, just throw some dynamite in the water and see what happens. It would be kinda hard to explain to the judge you’re not a terrorist.
From director Julie Taymor comes the self-proclaimed "most original, exhilirating, spectacular, groundbreaking motion picture of the year": a musical with Beatles songs. With lines like, "Music's the only thing that makes sense anymore, man," you'll be pleased that the stoner you knew in 9th grade finally got his script made.
So the only reaon many people watch the superbowl is for the commercials, if your even it to that sort of thing. If you wait just a little bit longer, say till the end of the game, you can find the ads already have been posted on Youtube and it looks like they are grouped in order of appearence. This is the worlds best ever autistic man with a amazing talent....
"Stephen Wiltshire was born in London to West Indian parents on 24th April, 1974. His mother, Geneva Wiltshire had come from St Lucia and his father, Colvin, from Barbados. Colvin was killed in a motorcycle accident when Stephen was three years of age. His sister, Annette, is two years older than her brother. He lives with his mother in West London.
As a child, Stephen was mute and did not relate to other human beings. Aged three, he was diagnosed as autistic. He had no language, uncontrolled tantrums and lived entirely in his own world.
At the age of five, Stephen was sent to Queensmill School in London, a school for children with special needs, where it was noticed that the only pastime he enjoyed was drawing. It soon became apparent he communicated with the world through the language of drawing; first animals, then London buses, and finally buildings. These drawings show a masterful perspective, a whimsical line and reveal a natural innate artistry."
