Anyone that knows me, knows that I am on my 5th iPhone because the stupid things crack every time I drop one.  I have started looking into cases, and am intrigued by Exovault’s aluminum and brass cases.  The rectangleness doesn’t bother me one bit, I’m just wondering what the weight is like?

With the 365 day Alarm Clock, New Balance just launched an effort to become a part of your life (even more so, if you love their sneaks) for the next 365 days.  Since I downloaded it this morning I have yet to use it yet but, the 365 day Alarm clock is a pretty smooth iPhone App that’ll wake you up every morning with a video. Apple’s future, I read yesterday about Steve Jobs’ excitement for the release of his ipad and how proud he is of this moment. It is being spoken of as his greatest achievement, which made me start to think about it and what is possible.

We know Apple recently bought Quattro, the mobile ad company and we know Google bought theirs. Have you given it a second thought? If you have ever developed for the iPhone, you know they review every detail and are not too friendly to code that exploits core functionality. Think about what that means for advertising? Currently Apple lets you serve banners on the phone…snore. Apple also controls what code/API etc. that can or cannot run in the phone. They also do not like third party tracking software, and one last note, they have been reported to have been looking into cloud computing.

Fast forward to Wednesday. Now imagine what it might be like if Apple opens the doors of what you can code for in the ad. Basically an SDK for advertising. I imagine like Google, Apple will enter the ad serving world. It will serve the ads and take a piece.  Apple is betting to win the standardized format for mobile ads. Simply think of it as mini iphone apps as advertising. Apple will allow advertise your app in your app taking a cut from all sides. The bottom line and benefit? We finally will be able to standardize ads and formats and size. Now that is smart!

*This is just my prediction based on too much Apple rumor reading! So take it as a grain of salt, but if I am right, credit the TWBE!

No, it’s not maps to celebrities homes, it is by far one of the coolest astronomy applications ever for the iphone. The interface feels very “star trek” scifi, especially with all the sound prompts. Check it out, I believe it needs the 3Gs to take advantage of the compass. This video review above maybe from an early version but it gives you a taste of what to expect.
