Inspected Gadget: PhotoTrackr Mini 400 Geotagger

Gift giving time approaches and you’re trying to find something for the digital camera geek who has it all. How about this handy GPS dongle that can be synced up with a folder of photos to provide geographic data (a.k.a. geotagging)?
At about $70, this is similar to other devices but this one seems to have a good pedigree, and is a good pocket sized device that plays well with both big DSLR’s and smaller point-and-shoot devices.

Inspected Gadget: Hard Graft Laptop Sleeve + Add-On Pouch

A friend of mine has one of these laptop sleeves from Hard Graft, and it pairs quite nicely with a sleek aluminum Macbook Pro. I can imagine it quite nicely slipping into the LL Bean Hunter’s tote – I just might need to request these from Santa.

Imagine a nice, thick felt (100% pure new wool), with leather accents (Italian aniline dyed). This year, Hard Graft is offering an add-on pocket for any extra doodads you need to carry along with your laptop.

colorChange for the iphone

ColorChange by Indivigital is a really awesome app. If you ever wanted to repaint a wall in your place and were unsure about the color to use, this app is the answer. Here is how it works: Take a picture of the wall, then select on the portions you want to paint. It’s smart enough to know trace around pictures, and objects that may be in the shot and you can use its tools to select and erase what you may not want to have colored. Definitely worth the $2.99.

How do you read content these days? I am obsessed with the Kindle for iphone, but I think the actually kindle looks a little pretentious. Besides the fact, do you really need to carry around another gadget? Check out this article from the Times, “Library in a Pocket” which asks the question is it small enough.

Check out Distill‘s mag app and check out GQ‘s December issue.
