This ad for Tommy Guerrero’s Iron Gate is sharp as hell.

Fact: Iron Gate was my first skateboard.  I had the white version, set up with clear grip tape, tracker ultra-lites (they cracked too quickly), blue Bullet 66’s, and german bearings.

Apple’s future, I read yesterday about Steve Jobs’ excitement for the release of his ipad and how proud he is of this moment. It is being spoken of as his greatest achievement, which made me start to think about it and what is possible.

We know Apple recently bought Quattro, the mobile ad company and we know Google bought theirs. Have you given it a second thought? If you have ever developed for the iPhone, you know they review every detail and are not too friendly to code that exploits core functionality. Think about what that means for advertising? Currently Apple lets you serve banners on the phone…snore. Apple also controls what code/API etc. that can or cannot run in the phone. They also do not like third party tracking software, and one last note, they have been reported to have been looking into cloud computing.

Fast forward to Wednesday. Now imagine what it might be like if Apple opens the doors of what you can code for in the ad. Basically an SDK for advertising. I imagine like Google, Apple will enter the ad serving world. It will serve the ads and take a piece.  Apple is betting to win the standardized format for mobile ads. Simply think of it as mini iphone apps as advertising. Apple will allow advertise your app in your app taking a cut from all sides. The bottom line and benefit? We finally will be able to standardize ads and formats and size. Now that is smart!

*This is just my prediction based on too much Apple rumor reading! So take it as a grain of salt, but if I am right, credit the TWBE!

You have to love the vision of Japanese McDonalds.  They have a new series of burgers rolling out under the Big America moniker.  Above is the Texas, and damn does it look good.  After the jump you’ll see the New York, California, and Hawaiian.  I wonder if US McDonald’s realizes how much money they’d be printing if they brought these over stateside?
