We finally got pictures in of Paul Schiek’s new show, the thing about you is you will end up like me at Stephen Wirtz Gallery and they are outstanding.  I can only image coming into a crisp white room and being surrounded by stark black & white.  That pile in the middle? The white sculpture is a limited edition book that is only available through the gallery.

Got a nice email surprise from Paul Schiek last night.

Opening tonight at Stephen Wirtz Gallery in San Francisco is the thing about you is you will end up like me. The show sounds pretty impressive as ” the gallery has been rendered entirely white—floor, ceiling, and walls—resulting in an environment that feels unbound and separate from time and the physical world outside, even as it presents a stark distillation of the artist’s relationship with that physical world. A small selection of black-and-white photographs hang from the walls, and stacks of newly released, self-published photography books by the artist emerge organically from the gallery floor.”
