rock in a hard place “The story of Anvil”
I just read a couple, ok many reviews for this documentary, “Anvil, The story of Anvil”, lets just say there’s not one bad review out there. Meet the band that influenced Slayer, Metallica, GNR, and so many more, but never really made it big. Here’s the premise, “At 14, best friends Robb Reiner and Lips made a pact to rock together forever. Their band, Anvil, hailed as the “demi-gods of Canadian metal, ” influenced a musical generation that includes Metallica, Slayer, and Anthrax, despite never hitting the big time. Following a calamitous European tour, Lips and Robb, now in their fifties, set off to record their 13th album in one last attempt to fulfill their boyhood dreams.” The film was director by Sacha Gervasi, who at 16 left home to tour with the band. In 2003,he reconnected with them and begin the process to make the documentary. for more info and clips of the film click here.
