   as a new orlenian i must come to the defense of mr. maccash. banksy’s presence in new orleans was important, especially within the scope of the ongoing saga of the grey ghost and our cities rebuilding efforts. the pieces have inspired debate and discussion within the city– and as people begin to find them and eliminate or protect them, a trend emerges in the cities psyche. i believe this is an important idea for an arts journalist to pursue.
