While these are not all of the shows this month, this is what stands out. A Basel/Miami section is to come, but that is an entirely different matter. Too much good stuff.

2 girls 1 cup

This is one of those links that was forwarded to you. What I can tell from this clip, there is a web site, wWw. 2 girls 1 cup dot Com, that has a video of a 2 girls taking a deuce in a cup, then I guess they start drinking it. I am not recommending watching it, (I did not) but, I do recommend watching the chain of video reactions that has been generated from the site, on YouTube.

I don't know what it is....maybe the combination of the calm music and the reaction to knowing that what they are looking at it is truly vile, but you never see it. It's genius!

Details magazine hits the UK

arena-magazine.jpg

Arena magazine used to be something you looked forward to getting, some fashion, interesting stories, cool gadgets, and barley dressed women, majority of the time naked, photo essays.
Now with its new layout and formating, Details, I mean Arena, sucks. Everyone is dressed, (women that is) and from the cover with Beckham looking like a Chelsea boy, to the last ad of the mag featuring a mans crotch. Arena, has jumped the pink shark.

At least there are still have dressed women on the website....maybe they are redesigning it as we speak. Don't get the wrong idea if you want nudity get playboy, I know I know, but I prefer the balance the magazine offered before that all. A straight mans fashion magazine.

Bonham's to hold world's first street art auction

bonhams-street-art-auction.jpg

This February, Bonham's Fine Art Auctioneers in London will hold the world's first auction devoted entirely to street art. While street art is nothing new, in the past year works from street artists have been seeping into auction houses and performing extremely well. Coming up this December, Sotheby's in London will have a section of their auction devoted to street art, but nothing in comparison to Bonham's. 100 works from the likes of Swoon, Shepard Fairey, Faile, Banksy, Keith Haring, and Jean-Michel Basquiat will be put on the block. Exciting for sure, this auction will definitely gauge whether or not this genre of art has the legs to be more than just a flash in the pan. Luckily, estimates are not creeping too high which gives the art a chance to break records.

ebay sells everything like a town, for instance

albert-texas.jpg

CNN reports, someone in Italy placed the winning bid of $3.8 million on Friday in an online auction for an unpopulated, one-house Texas town. The town of Albert, Texas, includes a tavern that's open on weekends.

No one lives permanently in the 13-acre town of Albert, about 60 miles north of San Antonio, but the tavern created from the frame of the old general store is open on weekends. The town also includes a pavilion, an 85-year-old dance hall, a tractor shed, a three-bedroom house, plus peach and pecan orchards.

I am curious to know more about the italian who bought the town, and why.

dive into philly

dive-philly.jpg

The Dive is tucked into a little brick row home on Passyunk. It is the type of neighborhood bar you wish you had just around the corner from your place. Happy hour is from 5 to 7 p.m. every day, with $2 liquor, $2 beers and free slices from J&J's Pizza, just down the street. The wood-paneled ground floor has a long bar that spans the length of the space. Colored Christmas lights are strung along the perimeter of the tin ceiling, and a big flat-screen TV hangs in the middle of the bar. TV Dinners, Chef Boyardee, Hot Pockets, popcorn and ice cream are served from the glass-front fridge, and heated in the microwave conveniently located below it. Friendly as hell, the bartenders serve five different beers on tap, including Yuengling and the seasonal Lancaster Milk Stout. The signature drink is whatever you want, but the bartenders recommend a Planters Punch (Captain Morgan's and Bacardi with OJ, pineapple and a splash of grenadine). It tastes like something you'd drink with breakfast-that is, until you're knocked flat-ass on the floor. Via (cityPaper)

nin-foiled again!

nin-remix.jpg

Back in the day NIN released the digital tracks to its fans to allow them to make there own remixes........"… the main reason I did it was because I thought it was cool and something I would have liked to do if it was available to me. A lot of really fun stuff started to happen….communities developed, web sites were created, even traditional radio got in the game and began playing the fans' mixes. I felt the experiment, despite not having a specific purpose, was a success." So now they are releasing a album of the remixes, and they have created a site where people can share their work. Remix.NIN. Due to some legal issues the site is not up at the moment, but you can buy the songs on itunes.

The Red hots are the new Metallica!

californication.jpg

As you may already now...the Red Hot Chili Peppers are suing American television network Showtime over use of the name 'Californication', after the network used their 1999 album title as the name for David Duchovny's latest show.

Billboard.com reports that a suit was filed in the Los Angeles Superior Court on Monday (November 19), with lead singer and songwriter Anthony Kiedis saying, "'Californication' is the signature CD, video and song of the band's career. For some tv show to come along and steal our identity is not right."

I grew up to the band and saw them sooooooo many times. To think that they feel "Californication" is their "signature" song of the bands career, is really sad, Hillel, is rolling over in his grave.

The band has requested that Showtime Networks and defendants Twilight Time Films, Aggressive Mediocrity and Tom Kapinos cease using the name and hand over all profits made as a result of using the name.

mike huckabee and chuck norris, whatever

Being on vacation in Florida means that I get to spend some quality time in front of the fox news channel with my grandparents. This seems to be the only thing they watch with the exception of the Lawrence Welk Show. Now that I am caught up on the yawn-inducing world of politics, I have to say I find it astonishing that there is a candidate named Huckabee, and that his first commercial is based around a Chuck Norris endorsement. I blame it on his lazy eye. Now the commercial does have some great material in it and I understand that this was a great publicity move, I am talking about him, but there are so many other bit characters that I would have rather seen. Chuck Norris is an old dud, Mr. T would have been flavorful. What about Weird Al? Or even Henry Winkler? Whatever, I'll tell you my vote if the man lets him make it that far, Bill Richardson.

bowie-on-the-block.jpg

David Bowie is on the Sotheby's block at the end of November, you can buy some vintage t-shirts for a couple $1000.00 each. Or you can pick this little gem up.

"Fans of a certain age will remember well the nervousness they felt when DB was arrested, along with three others, at the Americana Rochester Hotel in the early hours of March 21st after a show at the War Memorial in Rochester, New York.

Press reports on both sides of the Atlantic screamed "Bowie Busted" (still have the cuttings) and there was genuine concern that our man could be sent down for fifteen years after he was charged with "fifth-degree criminal possession of marijuana".

Anyway, after raising the $2,000 bail each for himself and his companions (who included one James Osterberg, Jr.) David returned to have his picture taken four days later on the 25th.

Above are the fruits (steady) of that photographer's labour in what has to be the coolest busted rock star photograph of all time." Via (david bowie.com). Bid now on ebay.

a new tower is born

jean-nouvel.jpg

"Next to MoMA, a Tower Will Reach for the Stars", Jean Nouvel, has designed a new building that will go up in midtown right next to the MOMA. "A new 75-story tower designed by the architect Jean Nouvel for a site next to the Museum of Modern Art in Midtown promises to be the most exhilarating addition to the skyline in a generation. Its faceted exterior, tapering to a series of crystalline peaks, suggests an atavistic preoccupation with celestial heights. It brings to mind John Ruskin’s praise for the irrationality of Gothic architecture: “It not only dared, but delighted in, the infringement of every servile principle.” VIA(nytimes)

KID NATION WITH GENE PARMESHAWN

kn%2011_15.jpg

"Dynamite waiting to happen!" is what Anjay called it. Morbidly, he forecasted his own demise as the council members decided to "mix up" the districts. This episode's end would find our Bollywood bound Hindu from Blue crying to whichever of his thousands of gods would listen as Greg exclaimed, "Dude, SHUT UP!" to his lame pre-challenge pep-talk and would ultimately dispute his seat on the town council. "Mix up" turned out to be a relative term when all but Laurel, whose course red hair and gritty New England accent left little room for discussion, added 1 member from another district to theirs, shattering friendships in the process but retaining the overall stink of each district. Despite adding Blaine, the girly pussies of Yellow still cried themselves to sleep at night, everyone on Blue still hates Anjay, especially since he split up Greg and Blaine, and Red is even more of a bunch of boogers with Nathan added to the mix (except for DK and Markelle; anyone who would buy a pogo stick for the sole purpose of ripping down someone's campaign banner and pogo-ing on it in the center of town is alright in my book). But it wasn't all bad, Blaine took advantage of his transfer to move out of Greg's shadow. His increased presence was not overlooked as he was awarded the gold star this week. Still drunk on his newly acquired $20,000 of solid gold, Blaine put forth his bid to take on Zach for district leader as elections loom on the horizon. In his words, "I'm a man of action. I can get things done. Sometimes it takes actions to get things done." That's good talkin' son. Here's to hoping that it takes action to get things done all the time. Enjoy your 20G payday Blainester, GeneP out.

After a two week hiatus from a print release, Shepard returns to action with a release limited to 100 out of an edition of 400 featuring the work he did for Led Zeppelin's new album Mothership. More interesting to me is the commercial (above) which features Shepard's work coming to life. The print is after the jump.

the da vinci code 2.0, hidden music

lastsuper.jpg

A computer technician claims to have discovered a real da Vinci code after finding music hidden in Leonardo's masterpiece, The Last Supper.

Giovanni Maria Pala said that the hands of Jesus and the Apostles, and the loaves of bread in the picture each represented a note, which formed a 40-second composition.

He made the discovery after superimposing a stave - the five lines used in sheet music - on the painting. The composition emerges when the "notes" are read right to left, following Leonardo's own technique.

Mr Pala, who will publish his findings in a book next week, said: "It sounded really solemn, almost like a requiem."

Alessandro Vezzosi, of Tuscany's Leonardo museum, said the theory was "plausible", but added: "There's always a risk of seeing something that is not there, but it's certain that the spaces [in the painting] are divided harmonically.

"Where you have harmonic proportions, you can find music."

gibson changes the world?

The First Run Limited Edition Robot Guitar from Gibson hits stores December 7, 2007—only 10 per store. "On December 7, 2007, Gibson will change the guitar world forever. Again. True to the spirit of innovation that inspired Gibson to invent the legendary Tune-o-matic bridge, the powerful humbucker, and the revolutionary Digital Les Paul, Gibson proudly presents the Gibson Robot Guitar—the world’s first guitar with robotic technology.".....Blah blah blah...... So does this mean besides manufacturing bands, record labels now can find "musicians" that do not even have to know how to tune their guitars.

Gene Parmeshawn: DON'T go buy now!

kn%20tv.jpg

Greetings you scat-daddy scallywags, as your Main Man Gene P curled up with his favorite Wednesday night accoutrements: a 22 of the Balantine and a bag of crab chips to watch his favorite Wednesday night primetimer: Kid Nation, he was met with the very screen you see above. At first I thought I might have eaten one of those Fisher Price toys with the GHB in it, but I remembered my roommate already took those to a party in Bushwick. Then what was I seeing? Russian spy messages? A heated game of Pong??? Nyet! It was just my shitty TV doing what it does best, stopping me from getting awesome with the weekly radditude of CBS primetime. How was I to ever know if Green would make the Upper Class??? No worry, for any of you that are so hopelessly out of the loop, each show is archived on CBS's website. These bad boys are too damn good to not share and we thank the fine folks at CBS for realizing that. So if you haven't already, don't delay cause this show is one not to miss. There's a talent show where Olivia does stand-up, Green FINALLY wins upper class, and there's no bonus reward cause the suckers on Yellow couldn't finish the challenge. They also gave the gold star to some girl who I think wanted to go home or something, I'm not sure, at this point I was kind of bored so I started eating plastic stuff around the apartment to see if it could get me high. I kind of lost track of the show when I started choking on the stands for one of the Wii controllers.

Wondering what Pete's been up to?

Just days after completing a six week rehab program and hours after claiming he was drug free at the MTV Europe Music Awards, rocker Pete Doherty was filmed injecting "heroine" into his arm.
